Hello and Happy Guinness World Records Day! Im Craig Glenday, Editor in Chief of the Guinness World Records book, and just for today your Guest Editor here at YouTube.
Today is the international day of record-breaking, and the videos Ive highlighted today all embody the spirit of determination and dedication required to earn yourself Guinness World Records certification. This selection is, I truly believe, a realistic snapshot of the world we live in today. The news is full of doom and gloom, and rarely paints a true, balanced picture of the world we live in. The truth is that humanity is full of optimistic, fun-loving, determined people, and Guinness World Records is here to celebrate the fantastic diversity of people and their achievements.
So, theres no better time to dust off the sweatbands and try your hand at record-breaking and the wide spectrum of topics seen in todays video selection confirms that you dont need to be an Olympic-grade athlete or a Noble-Prize-winning scientist. Literally anyone can have a go. So whats stopping you?
Mark Beaumont
First off the starting block is Mark Beaumont like me, a fellow Scotsman; unlike me, he did the seemingly impossible: cycling around the world in a record 194 days and 17 hours! Mark cycled a distance of 29,445.81 km (18,296.74 miles) and travelled over 40,100 km in total (including transfers). The journey started and finished at Paris (France) from 5 August 2007 to 15 February 2008 and covered Europe, Pakistan, Malaysia, Australia, New Zealand and the USA. A truly remarkable achievement by a real hero...
Pants for Poverty
.. (Pants For Poverty)
Guinness World Records is proud to partner with Pants for Poverty during this years GWR Day this fantastic organization encourages you to trade your old pants for a new Fair Trade pair. This way, tribal Indian cotton farmers get a fair price for their products and you get pants without the guilt of child-slavery. This video shows a previous Pants for Poverty campaign in which old pants were destroyed in liquid nitrogen!
Victor Rubilar
http://jp.youtube.com/watch?v=8EsUp_u...
I had the pleasure of adjudicating Victors records myself here we are in Sweden at a department store last year attempting not one but three reecords. The things that Victor can do with a football are mesmerising. Hes a real showman with the Latin passion typical of Argentinean footballers! - and as youll see, he can captivate a crowd with his ball control skills.
Michael Phelps
http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=UrlhvB5...
For me, Michael Phelps the Baltimore Bullet was one of the highlights of this years Olympics in Beijing. Here he is breaking the 200-m butterfly in March 2007 in Melbourne, Australia, one of the records he went on to smash again in Beijing. Indeed, it was at this years Games that he broke the record for the most golds won at a single Olympics, taking an unprecedented total of eight. He may not be the most graceful man on land, but once he hits the water, he assumes the agility and lissomness of a dolphin.
Marek Turowski
http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=XPy5LnE...
If you dont have the physique of Michael Phelps or the stamina of Mark Beaumont, you can still set a speed record. Hey, you often dont even need to leave your sofa to be a record breaker, as this clip proves! Once again, I was honored to be on hand to adjudicate at the moment when Marek Turowski snuggled down into a sofa built by TV mechanic Edd China and broke Edds world record by hitting 92 mph!
Skateboard heel flips
http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=GZgmfzj...
Heres proof that anyone can try to get their name in the Guinness World Records book. Its free to apply all we ask is that you visit our website first and tell us about your record BEFORE you attempt it! We have rules and guidelines that must be followed, so make sure youve got the most up-to-date rules before your commit yourself to a record.
Usain Bolts 100-m final
http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=SYHuylQ...
Another fantastic Olympic achievement this year saw Jamaicas Usain Lightning Bolt pulling off what many people thought was impossible running the 100-m dash in under 9.7 seconds. Words like awesome get thrown around a lot these days, but this is the kind of accomplishment that justifies the term. This year also saw Bolt cement his title as the worlds fastest man by winning the 200-m the event considered the ultimate in running in a time of 19.30 seconds!
Pizza eating
http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=dXRytv_...
OK, so heres a record almost anyone can although it will take a certain type of glutton to beat the current Guinness World Record! (And I suspect that if you try this record too often, theres no way youll ever beat Usain Bolts 100-m record!) ( less)

History:
King of Great Britain's Welterweight Kingdom, Sir Ricky Hatton, planned to conquer the world, named Boxing, with his adviser, Sir Floyd Mayweather Sr. They traveled thousand miles from their Kingdom to Boxing World, currently controlled by Ring King Manny Pacquiao and his adviser Freddie Roach, a veteran of the ring wars. Sir Ricky Hatton and Ring King Manny Pacquiao arranged a fight for the known Boxing World. The battle would take place in a town by the Sinners. On the day of the fight, many watched, many have beers. Some of Hatton's army, The Hattonites, sat opposite of Pacmaniacs, Ring King Manny's own army. All the preperations took months, but World of Boxing King Manny Pacquiao finished the reign of Hatton in just 3(make that 2) Rounds of fighting. Once again, King Manny prevailed and raised honor and glory to his Kingdom the his fighting alma matter, University of the Philippines. ( less)

Not a good day or night for Phil Jackson thanks to the NBA and Linas Kleiza.Jackson got fined $50,000 for accusing the league of having a vendetta against Kobe Bryant, then lost a seventh straight game for the first time in his 16-year coaching career Thursday night when the Los Angeles Lakers fell to the Denver Nuggets 113-86.Kleiza scored a career-high 29 points and Carmelo Anthony had 26 as the Nuggets handed the Lakers their 13th loss in 16 games."That's great when you've got a guy coming off the bench contributing the way he has," Allen Iverson said of Kleiza, who scored 24 against Sacramento on Sunday. "He never cares about starting or anything like that. When his opportunity comes, he's just always ready."Kleiza shrugged off his career night:"It was just one of those games where the shots were going down. Melo and Iverson were doing a great job sharing the ball," he said.Kleiza was doing a great job putting it through the hoops, hitting 10-of-13 shots, including 5-of-6 from the arc.Iverson couldn't have picked Kleiza out of a crowd when he came over from Philadelphia three months ago but said the second-year forward was the catalyst for the Nuggets' biggest win since the trade."I didn't know who he was when I got here, but a nationally televised game, I think a lot of people around the world know who he is now," Iverson said.Iverson added 14 points and 13 assists and Marcus Camby had 11 points and 14 boards for the Nuggets, who moved into a tie with the Lakers for the sixth spot in the Western Conference playoff race.Bryant's 25 points led the free-falling Lakers, who couldn't capitalize on the return of Luke Walton and Lamar Odom despite building a double-digit lead in a mostly stellar first half.Anthony scored 10 points in a 24-10 run that Denver used to close the third quarter and take an 87-72 lead and turn the game into a blowout. Even the Nuggets, who have lost 10 games in which they led after three quarters, couldn't blow that big of a lead.Camby's alley-oop dunk made it 92-72 and the Nuggets enjoyed a rare blowout at the Pepsi Center, where they are just 18-17.Earlier in the day, Jackson and the Lakers were fined $50,000 apiece by the NBA after the coach said the league was conducting a "witch hunt" against Bryant."I thought you only get fined for criticizing the officiating," Jackson said before tip-off. "They're the sacred cows. But I find out somebody else has a sacred cow somewhere else."Bryant recently received two one-game suspensions this season for striking players in the face after taking a shot. The league retroactively assessed Bryant with a flagrant foul for an elbow to Philadelphia's Kyle Korver last week, a play that didn't even draw a foul.Bryant picked up three fouls in a 90-second span in the third quarter Thursday night while the Nuggets, who closed the first half on a 13-2 run, were pulling away."The third quarter it just caved in on us," Bryant said. With Brian Cook (ankle) not making the trip, both Walton and Odom returned to the Lakers' lineup. Odom hadn't played since tearing the labrum in his left shoulder March 2 and Walton had been sidelined since spraining his right ankle Jan. 26.They started along with Kwame Brown, who missed 27 games with a sprained ankle before returning March 2. He replaced 19-year-old Andrew Bynum at center. Walton had 13 points and Odom scored nine."Luke Walton ran out of gas and Lamar Odom is just not ready to play," Jackson said.A winded Odom went scoreless after halftime."He didn't have a good second half," Jackson said. "He did a good job on Carmelo. He hit a couple of shots then and Kobe wanted to switch onto him."Said Odom: "I didn't have much tonight. The game took a lot out of me. I had some problems with Carmelo. It made sense to make the switch."Despite it all, Bryant saw glimpses of a looming recovery."With Lamar back, we saw flashes of what we're capable of in the first half," he said. "We just have to build on that and understand that that's the team we want to make noise with in the playoffs. We have to build with what we have here and Luke and Lamar need to get in basketball shape."When that happens we'll feel pretty good."Jackson will feel a lot better, too. ( less)

Another day of captivity saw the prisoner restrained in the following manner.
To start, the prisoner was made to wear a blue and black Adidas t-shirt and a pair of tight blue nylon 1980s style soccer shorts. He was tightly roped in a kneeling position at the foot of a bed. His knees were pulled wide apart before being tied causing considerable stress on the prisoner's upper legs. The prisoner did ask to be released when he realised the pain he was in but he was ignored. A pair of blue lycra running shorts was used as a hood and a ballgag and head harness was placed over the top of the makeshift hood causing the material from the shorts to be forced into his mouth.
The prisoner was then made to wear the blue and black Adidas t-shirt with a pair of skintight blue Nike lycra athletics shorts. His wrists were cuffed both in front and behind his back at various times and he was placed lying on his back on a bed. Blue plastic straps were placed around his upper body pinning his arms to his sides. His ankles were split wide apart and roped to the frame at the bottom of the bed. Further ropes were tied around his upper thighs and then tied to the frame at the side of the bed. A chain was fastened around his neck and then attached to the frame at the top of the bed preventing him from sitting up. His mouth was stuffed with a ball of cloth and then duct taped shut. A tight rubber zip-up hood was placed over his head.
Finally the prisoner was made to wear a PVC t-shirt with the pair of skintight blue Nike lycra athletics shorts. He was placed kneeling at the frame at the top of a bed. His wrists were pulled through the frame behind him and cuffed there. Lengths of chain were fastened around his neck and then attached to the frame behind him. His knees were pulled apart into a painful stress position and then his ankles were roped to the frame behind him. He remained gagged and hooded in the same manner. ( less)

At age 38 and 315 days, MJ shattered the record for the oldest player to score 50+. The game prior had MJ scoring just 6 due to injury which stopped his NBA-record double-figures scoring streak at 866 games. MJ came out to make up for that here. It should be mentioned that MJ's injury limited him to just 2 full-game scrimmages the entire year in practice. One must wonder, without the injury, what might have been possible at ages 38-40? Zone was allowed starting that year with hand-checking tighter than today as one-legged, twilight MJ broke a few records that day. ( less)

I am a Kobe Bryant fan but on youtube I learned alot about Michael Jordan and Larry Bird and guys like that. This video is for the I am a Kobe Bryant fan but on youtube I learned alot about Michael Jordan and Larry Bird and guys like that. This video is for the old timers who got to see the 92 dream team. Barcelona was where they played the games and the Dream Team won by an average of 44 points per game. Magic Johnson was the most dominating passer with Bird the most dominating long range shooter with Jordan the dominator WOW!
Many consider it the greatest team ever assembled, in any sport. Yet even that description fails to give it proper credit for its impact.
The original Dream Team, the U.S. basketball team that won the gold medal at the 1992 Olympics in Barcelona, was a phenomenon on and off the court. It mattered not that it dominated the Olympic competition, beating its eight opponents by an average of 44 points. What was important was that the Dream Team, the first U.S. Olympic team to include NBA stars, gave fans a glimpse of basketball at its finest, and an entire world responded.
Since 1992, basketball has exploded in popularity around the globe, rising to a place where it truly challenges soccer's status as the world's most popular sport. Much of that is due to the impact of the Dream Team, which attracted fans and followers wherever it went.
"It was," said Coach Chuck Daly, "like Elvis and the Beatles put together. Traveling with the Dream Team was like traveling with 12 rock stars. That's all I can compare it to."
And what a band it was. Start with three of the game's all-time greats: Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson and Larry Bird. Add the irrepressible Charles Barkley for a little spice, as well as seven more NBA All-Stars: centers David Robinson and Patrick Ewing, power forward Karl Malone, swingmen Scottie Pippen, Chris Mullin and Clyde Drexler and point guard John Stockton. Complete the roster with Christian Laettner, the best college player of 1991-92 and a future NBA All-Star.
Opponents didn't have a chance, but they didn't care. One player, while trying to guard Magic Johnson, was seen frantically waving to a camera-wielding teammate on the bench, signaling to make sure he got a picture of them together.
"They knew they were playing the best in the world," reflected Daly after the team won the gold medal with a 117-85 win over Croatia on August 8, 1992. "They'll go home and for the rest of their lives be able to tell their kids, 'I played against Michael Jordan and Magic Johnson and Larry Bird.' And the more they play against our best players, the more confident they're going to get.
"Finally there will come a day -- I'm not saying it will happen anytime soon, mind you, but it's inevitable that it will happen -- that they will be able to compete with us on even terms. And they'll look back on the Dream Team as a landmark event in that process."
Only Christian Laettner was not named among the NBA's 50 Greatest Players from the roster.
Charles Barkley of the Phoenix Suns
Larry Bird of the Boston Celtics
Clyde Drexler of the Portland Trail Blazers
Patrick Ewing of the New York Knicks
Magic Johnson of the Los Angeles Lakers
Michael Jordan of the Chicago Bulls
Christian Laettner of Duke University
Karl Malone of the Utah Jazz
Chris Mullin of the Golden State Warriors
Scottie Pippen of the Chicago Bulls
David Robinson of the San Antonio Spurs
John Stockton of the Utah Jazz
Coach: Chuck Daly of the Detroit Pistons

African American women in the beginning stages of their pro wrestling career, taking lumps and bumps. Some well known and some underground sistas are showcased in this video/mural. Have fun and excuse me if the images look crazy. I had to shrink the file and cut some stuff. Trim this clip down to 100MB and it seem like something was taking away. I didn't want to use Divx. It would strip image clarity and give u grain. Movie Maker is my choice. I try to combine different effects like Speed up 50% and Slow-motin to get variety, and all I got was the regular speed. I guess the two effects crossed each other out. I thought MS was three steps ahead of us creative heads??? I got the original Movie Maker version w/title and end credits, and trust the action is as clear as a clean window(ha). The reduction in MB did cause me to cut and get right to the good points, so u don't see too many drag scenes.
One day there will be software where u can go beyond the original camera angle. That would be bananas! Anyway, I had different transition effects and all that. I can't tell if they're in the clip. It doesn't look like it. Most of the effects are still around I had scenes dissolve and rotate 360 as they faded into view, plus I got the M Maker upgrade. I think it was 2.6, but I still had to knock down the MB. I really don't know if the sound came out right. If not, feel free to hit mute. Anyway, the clip is about the action and how the female figure can show impact(for the bored and warped: don't even try to imitate,ha! Let it go and enjoy heh! If nature created u like these women, then go for yours, ha). A highlight heads up for the viewers. Watch and Hear the "suplex" in slow-mo on Crystal. Damn it looked like it hurt :-). Maintain yourself when u hear the sound effects. It sound as it look.
This video is mostly a mural/collage, whatever u want to call it. Here's what it is not from the creator/author of this clip: Promotion of violence against women(just cuz it's labeled a sport/game u know some want to make excuses to do what they do), and racism. On that note I know folks will enjoy this clip either by complaining or kissing(this is for the mature, not neccessarily the "grown", ha). There's a reason why I made it. Win or lose, sistas look good doing it. PSA: Please stay away from any electrical appliances while viewing this clip. Peace
